ABOUT US
Hello!
Welcome to the official website of the Orem Film Festival (OFF)! My name is Trevor Allen, a local filmmaker from Orem, Utah. I created this festival as a place where film students, hobbyists, and passionate storytellers can come together to showcase the incredible work being made right here in our state.
I’m thrilled to announce that the first-ever Orem Film Festival will take place at Megaplex's Geneva location this September 2025. Whether you’re a filmmaker eager to share your vision or a film lover ready to experience bold, local cinema, we invite you to submit a film or attend the festival. I can’t wait to see you there!

All filmmakers — whether accepted or not — will be notified of their submission status by August 24, 2025. Notifications will be sent via email through FilmFreeway.
Accepted filmmakers will also receive detailed upload instructions and additional festival information. We’ll request materials such as posters, stills, production details, closed captions, and a high-quality video file (MP4 or MOV). These assets will be uploaded to a secure Google Drive folder provided by the Orem Film Festival.

We accept short films of any genre or form, including music videos, documentaries, animations, and more. Films under 20 minutes in length are preferable. Please note that feature films are not eligible for submission.
-
Yes! Every submitted short film is watched in full. Each film is viewed by at least two of our programmers, who carefully evaluate it based on originality, technical execution, narrative strength, emotional impact, and artistic vision.

Yes, international films are welcome and eligible for submission. However, we give preference to Utah local films. International films are eligible for the Jury Prize and the Audience Choice award. However, only local Utah films are considered for the Emerging Filmmaker award.
